Tried to keep changes to only those that make
things easier, and
don't break backwards compatibility
Minimize required changes to existing
implementations Add optional fields to make integration
easier Get rid of XPath from the spec (as might not have XML data, nor an XPath processor)
Ensure that everything is profilable Allow useful information to be returned where
possible
