ACLS History E-Book Project
• Create viable product but at the same time push for innovation in how scholars write new e-books.
•
• Go beyond simply digitizing the print book. Encourage development of e-books that make good use of technology and are conceived knowing that there will be electronic publication.
•
• Work with scholars, publishers, libraries, learned societies, providing a place to experiment and deal with issues.
•
• Another goal - use standardized digital library infrastructure.
•
• Back-end technology developed by the University of Michigan’s Scholarly Publishing Office (SPO) using DLXS system.
